Pew Internet<\/a> brengt het volgende naar buiten: \u201csome 12% of internet users say they have downloaded a podcast so they can listen to it or view it at a later time. This finding compares to the 7% of internet users who reported podcast downloading in our February-April 2006 survey.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Dat is dus een toename van 70% in slechts 6 maanden tijd. Het mooie aan dit rapport is dat de stijging onder alle deelnemers aan het onderzoek was waar te nemen, ongeacht hun leeftijd, geslacht, internetgebruik etcetera. Er was zelfs een groter stijging bij de groep 40+ wat maar weer eens bewijst dat marketeers vaak op de verkeerde groep mikken. Iedereen wil de jeugd bedienen, maar vergeet dat de oudere consumenten het geld daadwerkelijk besteden. Zij kopen al die computer en iPods op dit moment!

\nWat jammer is aan de manier waarop dit rapport<\/a> naar buiten is gebracht, is de quote \u201cfew internet users are downloading podcasts with great frequency; in both surveys, just 1% report downloading a podcast on a typical day.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Bij de vraagstelling van deze vraag kun je zeker je vraagtekens zetten: \u201cPlease tell me if you ever do any of the following when you go online. Do you ever download a podcast so you can listen to it or view it at a later time? Did you happen to do this yesterday, or not?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Want, wordt hier ook meegerekend dat iTunes bijvoorbeeld vannacht weer 28 podcasts heeft opgehaald voor me? Overigens zou een vergelijkbare vraag als “Heeft u vandaag een filmpje op Youtube ge-streamed?” ook 1% opleveren, maar om *dat* dan als nieuws naar buiten te brengen, is geen correcte weergave van de rest van het onderzoek.<\/p>\n
