\"\"<\/a>“Jim Stolze has written one of the most interesting posts, I have read for a very long time. And no, it\u2019s not about some new cool gadget, service, application or website. It\u2019s about going completely offline and trying to live a life without access to the web<\/a> for one month.<\/p>\n

His tale is revealing in more senses than one. Revealing to the fact that we have outsourced so many tasks to the internet today – checking of phone numbers, fact finding, sending stuff around – that it becomes daunting to have to do without the blessing of broadband. And most revealing to the fact that if we cut out all the noise from emails, blogs, Twitter and the likes, we actually have an opportunity to find peace, be more present in the moment and have more qualified and deeper discussions with the people, who really matter to us.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s almost scary. I have always argued that the internet is not a new type of media – it\u2019s infrastructure along the lines of electricity, gas and running water. And I do believe it is. But I also think it\u2019s healthy to every once in a while take a step back and rethink, what it is we\u2019re using the internet for, and how it provides value to our lives – and what it potentially takes away.<\/p>\n
